NExt BASIC CLASSES BEGIN

Puppy Kindergarten

Puppy class is for puppies between 6 weeks and 5 months of age. The class runs for 6 weeks, for one hour per week. The cost of the class is $250. The class will focus on: Teaching bite inhibition, socialization to people and to dogs, house breaking, chewing, and being handled. Puppy kindergarten, will also introduce the following commands: the pup’s name (pup will look at you when his name is called), sit, down, stay, come and leave it (i.e. do not put the item in question in your mouth)

vet records required:

o   First two sets of Distemper/Parvovirus (DA2PP)

o   Rabies if at least 4 months of age

o   Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

o   Most recent application of flea and tick control within the last month OR note from vet stating that dog was flea and tick free at last exam.

o   Fecal exam. Note: if dog tests positive for any intestinal parasite, dog can still attend class so long as dog is undergoing treatment for said parasite.

o   Client can either bring in copies or vaccination records (with note for fleas and ticks), or have vet fax records to 888-2565, or bring form to vet to have filled out (I supply the form at the lecture). 

 

Basic Obedience Class

Basic class is for dogs 6 months of age and up. The class will run for 8 weeks, for 45 minutes each week. The cost of the class is $275. The class will focus on: Teaching house manners and teaching behavior modification techniques for problem behaviors such as barking and jumping. The class will also teach the owner to train the following behaviors: The dog’s name (pup will look at you when his name is called), sit, down, stay, come, leave it (do not put the item in question in your mouth) and loose-leash walking.

o   Distemper/Parvovirus (DA2PP)

o   Rabies

o   Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

o   Most recent application of flea and tick control within the last month OR note from vet stating that dog was flea and tick free at last exam.

o   Fecal exam within the last 12 months. Note: if dog tests positive for any intestinal parasite, dog can still attend class so long as dog is undergoing treatment for said parasite.
